AMFM filtration is utilized by all of Exelon. LaSalle is probably the best site for information.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Global] Tri Nuke practices query

Southern Nuclear presently uses several Tri Nuke filter units and an assortment of 6X30 filters to maintain water clarity in the Refueling Cavity and Spent Fuel Pool (SFP). The volume of spent filters is considerable, with disposal costs and efforts being a considerable planning burden. Use of vendor supplied filter shipping racks has reduced dose for shipping, but requires a large number of spent filters (greater than 100) to be accumulated before a disposal campaign is economically justified.

Are any sites effectively using alternate filtration employing a small number of larger all metal filters, or AM/FMP500 style filters (similar in size and configuration to FA) such that numbers of spent filters can be significantly reduced, and SFP fuel racks can be employed for storage?

Any experience with submerged demineralizers in SFP for cleanup of Refueling Water Storage Tanks, by use of a feed and bleed process to bring RWST water to SFP?

Please include any experiences/details on filter element, or resin column disposal once spent. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
