None of the filter sizes at Watts Bar Nuclear are smaller than 0.1 micron.

To all,
I have several questions about the use of sub-micron filtration (<0.1 micron) in the industry.

  1. How many of you are using sub-micron filtration in your primary demineralizer (Let down system here) and spent fuel pool systems?
  2. What dose rate limits do you use for change out of those filters?
  3. For those using them, how much has the smaller filter size impacted change out frequency?
  4. Have the smaller filter sizes had a worthwhile impact on plant source term?

Thank you for your answers,

Cris Mingus
