[Global] Content of your plant's Full ALARA Committee Agenda

I had sent this out a few weeks ago with little response.  Please share the content of your ALARA meeting.....   Olga


DC Cook's ALARA group was asked to reinvigorate our ALARA Committee meetings.  I was hoping other plants would share the contents of their meetings in hoping to enhance ours.  I would greatly appreciate your agenda meeting packet that you send out to the committee based on your frequencies and any procedure requirements you have.   Our ALARA Committee meets at the following frequencies to discuss:

(Quarterly):

*         Review of previous committee actions/assignments

*         Long Term ALARA Initiatives (if site is not meeting industry performance goals)

*         ALARA suggestions

*         Declining radworker trends (dosimeter alarms, personnel contaminations, RWP non-compliance)

Annually:

*         Site dose reduction initiatives (if site is meeting industry performance goals)

*         Annual dose budget

*         Department dose budgets

As needed or determined by Committee Chair (which is our plant manager)

*         Work activities with dose estimates greater than or equal to 3 person-rem

*         Inner volume containment entries at greater than 10% power

*         Forced Outage budgets greater than 5 person-rem

*         Shutdown chemistry plans


The ALARA committee also provides oversight for other aspects of the ALARA Program, such as:

*         Dose reduction initiatives

*         Dose budget  performance

*         Review of applicable station processes to ensure they are being performed ALARA

o   Engineering

o   RP

o   OPS

o   Chemistry

o   Work Management

o   Maintenance

o   Projects
