This is from our Radwaste Specialist:  We have our expert vendor, WMG, perform the characterizations for irradiated waste. Will have to provide them with ; complete cycle operating history (start and stop dates, power per cycle), irradiation history, physical characteristics of the components (drawings, material composition, dimensions, weights), dose rate and contamination surveys for unshielded components and Part 61 sample for the surface contamination. Rx Engineering would need to provide you with some of this information.

How does your site come up with the data needed to ship irradiated metal waste? Our corporate group used to do the calculations, but the group has been disbanded. We would love to clear out our warehouse, but lack the local expertise.
