[Global] Neutron Area Entry Requirements

At Sizewell B, company rules are that neutron approved dosimeters (i.e. legally approved by our nuclear safety regulator) shall be used to assess neutron exposure if it could exceed 10 mRem in a calendar month. We have the choice of thermal neutron (albedo) passive badges, fast-track neutron passive badges (PADC) or the Thermo EPD-N2 electronic gamma/neutron dosimeter (preferred method).

For simplicity, during dry cask campaigns we post any area >0.3 mRem/h as a Neutron Radiation Area and workers use the EPD-N2 when in these areas.

At STP, if there a potential of more than 10 mRem of exposure we post it as neutron monitoring required and require use of the Mirion NTX module on the DMC3000
