Beaver Valley a three loop Westinghouse plant has replaced Sodium Hydroxide with passive buffer Sodium Tetraborate for pH Control in  our Emergency Core Cooling Sump.  Please contact Don Salera at 724-682-7637  and he will help you contact the right individual in Design Engineering.

Robinson is investigating replacement of NaOH for pH adjustment with a passive buffer Sodium Tetraborate.  I would like to speak with any other plants that have already made this Engineering Change for any lessons learned.
