Three Mile Island Unit 1 is using the NAC International MAGNASTOR ISFSI System, not unlike HOLTEC. We have completed cask 45 of a planned 46 to date plus a GTCC cask 47 to finish spent fuel pool clean out. Some of the fuel we are loading is only 2 years old and high burn-up. We specified additional permanent shielding in the transfer cask (MTC) and the transportable container (TSC) as well as the automated welding machine base.

We are using Silflex with a tungsten/boron matrix surrounding the cask decon pit to reduce gamma and neutron exposure to personnel, SIlflex with tungsten as spot and area shielding on the Transfer Cask (MTC) during processing and welding.
