What is your stations practice for New Fuel Receipt Surveys?
At DCPP - RP will perform radiation and contamination surveys on the new fuel.  Contamination surveys include βγ (large area smears) and α smears.

What is your stations practice for New Fuel Receipt Surveys?

STP's current RP practices related to new fuel receipt survey of the fuel assemblies is to closely scan the entire length of the fuel assembly with less than an inch between the counter and the fuel assembly.  This practice has concerns that it increases the risk of fuel assembly damage and puts more work burden on the RP Tech.  Thoughts?
