At TVA we use (typically) lapels for assigning dose.

At SQN we also use lapels to confirm the effectiveness of new PAPR models.

Required:

  *   Alpha Level 3 with bg-a ratio <300:1 and alpha >20 dpm/100cm2
  * Alpha Level 2 with aggressive work in progress
  * Exceptions: supplied air respiratory protection, explosive environment, RPM discretion

Thanks,

All,
What tasks or jobs do you require a lapel air sample to be worn by workers?

Also, what is the intent of the lapel air sampler at your site (i.e., used to assign internal dose or confirm airborne conditions).
