[Global] [EXTERNAL] Benchmarking Request – Supplemental Support During Outages

Brunswick Nuclear Station


  1.  Outage Duration:
     *   What is the typical length of your planned outage (in days)? 24-28 days with a few extra days of allocation
  2.  Supplemental Support Duration:
     *   Out of that total outage duration, how many days do you typically have supplemental support on-site? All days with a ramp down curve. We also have Shared resources from other Duke sites
  3.  In-Processing Timeline:
     *   How many days before the outage do you begin in-processing supplemental support (e.g., for badging, training, orientation)? Bring 2-3 2-to 3 wks prior for scaffold, shielding, misc support. Most badge in 1 wk as outage start
  4.  Additional Notes (Optional):
     *   Any lessons learned, best practices, or unique approaches your site uses for managing supplemental personnel?  Each area (checkpoint) manages their own supplemental techs
