[Global] Work in CTMT at Power

At Barakah (similar to a Westinghouse 2 Loop design) we go into Containment (outside the bioshield) monthly for ECCS void checks. Previously we went in weekly, but a recent design change has reduced the void check requirement.

We accrue up to 2 mrem per entry per unit (often it’s 0 mrem).

It’s a VHRA entry because we have a penetration that allows access to the VHRA under vessel. There’s a design change in progress to cage this off so we can reduce the admin (and RP support) burden of this activity.

North Anna does not perform any work inside containment unless there is an identified leak detected in our sump frequency of pumping.  Or RCP seal leak detected.  NAPS is a sub-atmospheric containment so SCBA use is required for entry and stay is only 1 hour.
