During 1R22, Davis-Besse will be performing core barrel lift for ISI and baffle bolt inspection. We are benchmarking other site for any lessons learned from these two evolutions. Below are questions related to these two activities.

1.       Core barrel lift

  *   What is the sequence of moves for your plenum when the core barrel requires removal? Does it involve multiple lifts of the plenum in preparation for the core barrel move? Not moved
  *   How much dose was accumulated for the core barrel lift? Fall of 2020 :  512 mrem total Out and In  /  Spring 2019:  164 mrem Out and In
  *   What dose rates were observed during lift? During Spring 2019 D/R’s were up to 3.87 Rem.  Highest dose rates seen by ED on the worker was 148 mrem with average dose rates about 20 mrem.
  *   Were cameras used for lift by reactor services? Yes
  *   Who moves the core barrel at your site? In house or Vendor? Framatome is the Vendor and they move it.  Crane Operator uses a ‘belly box’ for the moves.
  *   Would you provide a copy of the core barrel move RWP? See attached AP

2.       Baffle Bolt inspection

  *   What Vendor performed the baffle bolt inspection? How was their performance from a radiological perspective? Westinghouse; no issues with PCE’s or Rad Worker performance
  *   How much dose was accumulated for baffle bolt inspections? Spring 2019:  Inspections: 1.279 Rem  Repair:  12.830 Rem  /  Fall 2020:  Inspections:  0.373 Rem   Repairs:  7.844 Rem
  *   What were the results of inspection? If repairs were required, how much dose was accumulated and time or was it schedule for a future outage? Accum p-hrs Spring 2019:  8670  /  Fall 2020:  7671
  *   What were the dose rates and contamination levels on inspection equipment? See attached maps
  *   See page 14 of 20 for historical Baffle Bolt dose performance.  On page 15 is Internal OE from Spring 2019 (1R26) related to the Baffle Bolt project.
