At Beaver Valley we have a FIN category on our dose report and also have a specific FIN RWP. 98% of the work Fin does is performed on their specific FIN RWP. It is a lot easier and less time consuming to track FIN dose that way instead of getting people changed to FIN or vice versa.

At Braidwood we use the FIN category on dose reports. This is for known tasks as individuals are assigned to a maint discipline vs FIN. Use of FIN dose reporting is at the ALARA analyst discretion........Thx Joe

At Surry, we stopped using FIN as an ALARA category. We've simply grouped them back into their respective craft departments. It wasn't really useful for tracking emergent work as we can capture that dose as it occurs. It's much simpler just looking at what they historically picked up and then split that dose out to original departments. Our FIN team was just doing more and more routine PM's, PT's and maintenance. Constant changing of craft codes just leads to more opportunities to mis-categorize dose. It just didn't make sense for us to track separately anymore. No reason that the maintenance department shouldn't own all dose related to maintenance. Same for I&C, Ops, Elec....

Hello all, I am seeking some information about dose tracking and those sites that use Sentinel. How does the sites handle dose tracking with resources that can be shared between departments? Such as using FIN resources for IE or Maintenance work. Does the ALARA techs/site often change craft codes on these workers that are pulled so that estimates will match up with certain groups they originally estimated for? (example. FIN resource used and picks up 5 mrem but estimate was for Mechanical Maintenance).
