  1. Do you perform Reactor Cavity Decon with House Personnel? Blend of house and supplemental RP and Laborer resources, based on experience levels If not, who do you contract with to perform the work? n/a
  2. Do you hydrolase the walls or cavity floor no hydrolasing, just pressure washer
If you do, what areas do you hydrolase? Briefly describe:_Floor and 6 ft up the walls of the upper cavity. Lower cavity (aka equipment pit) floor. Lower cavity walls are not deconned.
______________________________________________________________________

  1. To what contamination levels do you strive to achieve? Initial Decon (to establish habitability prior to setting Rx Head): removal of hazardous dose rate materials from Upper Cavity. Full Decon: Upper Cavity: <50k on floors, <300k on walls. Lower Cavity: removal of hazardous dose rate materials and general dose rate reduction.
  2. What deconning agents if any, do you use on the walls and /or floor? Sometimes we use Detergent 8
  3. Which types of materials/chemicals do you decon with? ___X_mops
________rags ___X Scrub Pads__________ Hydrogen Peroxide
_____X__high pressure washing ______X other, describe: rotating concrete scrubbers

  1. Do you use any robotics to perform decon of the cavity? YES. While cavity is flooded we have robotic floor scrubber connected to vacuum that cleans the floor, focusing on the fuel travel path
If so, what type Not sure. SQN owns it but ROV/Westinghouse operates it.

  1. Generally, how long does it take to decon the cavity? Time from initial RP survey to the time in which refueling re-enters the cavity 15 minutes for initial habitability to allow setting the Rx Head. 4 hours for Upper Cavity decon prior to reassembly activities.
  2. Are other groups working in the cavity in parallel with the decon crew? NO
If so, briefly describe Once Upper Cavity habitability is established with initial decon/survey, RFF crew sets the Rx Head. After that, Laborers enter to perform more thorough decon.

  1. Estimate the amount of exposure in mRem that it takes to decon the Reactor Cavity?
___ X__100-500 _____500-750 _____>750 mRem

  1. What recent changes have you made to decrease the time required to decon the cavity and/or reduce the exposure that it takes to achieve your decon goal? PAPR required. Rotating concrete scrubber is used for Upper Cavity… they cost $50-$100 at Home Depot and we trash them after use.
  2. Do you have a detailed procedure for this activity? If so, would you consider providing a copy for us to review? NO, just a job script (attached). SQN RP Job Scripts are not procedures, they are unofficial job guidance. They allow us to align department practices while maintaining the flexibility to quickly adapt as necessary.
