[Global] New Fuel Receipt Benchmarking

At Seabrook we are currently receiving new fuel. We take dose readings at the top, middle, and bottom of the fuel assembly, ensuring not to touch it. Additionally, we perform smears on each assembly and inside each shipping container.  Survey's are completed with the intent to minimize contact with the fuel assembly.

What is your stations practice for New Fuel Receipt Surveys?

STP's current RP practices related to new fuel receipt survey of the fuel assemblies is to closely scan the entire length of the fuel assembly with less than an inch between the counter and the fuel assembly.  This practice has concerns that it increases the risk of fuel assembly damage and puts more work burden on the RP Tech.  Thoughts?
